The Global Alliance for EcoMobility mission is to reduce citizens’ dependency on private motorized vehicles, especially in urban mobility, and raise the profile of the practice of 'EcoMobility' – self-propelled forms of transport like walking, cycling, and skating, combined with the use of public transport.

EcoMobility refers to an environmentally sustainable way of mobility that combines the use of non-motorized means of transport such as cycling, skating or scooting and walking with the use of public transport (defined as "passenging"). EcoMobility describes mobility without dependency on a private motorized vehicle such a car or a motorcycle.
