Sustaining Rural Places Toolkit

The Sustaining Rural Places Toolkit, a collaborative effort between the Sierra Business Council and Saving the Sierra, offers information on steps you can take to sustain the land, water, and open space in your community for generations to come.

The stories in the public radio documentary, Saving the Sierra: Grassroots Solutions for Sustaining Rural Commnities, are national models for applying new tools to overcome community conflict and create collaborative solutions around land and water conservation.

There are many different ways to protect a place, but it is the people that bring innovation to the table. They are able to bridge gaps, bring those with seemingly competing interests together, and find new, cutting edge solutions -- to save rural places.
