There is a perceived need to foster awareness about climate change in schools and universities and to engage young people and future professionals in the search for local solutions for a problem with has global dimensions. Yet, although much is written and spoken about climate change at scientific circles, little information filters through other levels. Since much can be gained by using scientific information to foster the debate on climate change at schools and universities across Europe, the "European Climate Teach-In Day" will be organized, to held on the 5th June 2009, which is also the World Environment Day, a traditional date in the world environment calendar."
Climate Change Studies Library
In the context of "Climate Teach-In Day" a Climate Change Studies Library has been established. This is a one-stop site where information on studies and reports are available and can be downloaded. This site will facilitate access to information on research and studies on climate change and allows contacts with the agencies performing such studies, hence increasing accessibility and know-how transfer.
"Interested persons/organisations are kindly invited to apply with their studies/reports for incorporation in the website (info@climateday.eu)."
